Our Tasters run in parallel to our touring productions and in collaboration with venues. Small groups of around 20 engage in day-long workshops exploring Ensemble Storytelling and the unique Emma Rice Company method. Tasters are openly advertised with a selection process and designed for people who are already interested in working professionally. This is the best way for us to meet and reach regional artists.

Our Technical Tasters also run alongside our touring shows. They take place on our sets and use the shows’ technical equipment. They are an innovative crash course in all things technical theatre, working directly with the Emma Rice Company backstage team. Openly advertised, our Tasters suit people with an interest or experience in backstage theatre.

Based at The Lucky Chance, our Open Residency is a one-week training programme with an emphasis on ensemble work. It is designed for multi-talented performers with some level of experience who are interested in the Emma Rice Company's work. Openly advertised, this course is suitable for performers and theatre makers.

A course for selected students about to embark on their third year of drama school training. Held at The Lucky Chance, this is the perfect moment for the Emma Rice Company to identify, encourage and inspire talented young professionals on the brink of joining the industry.

A paid position on an Emma Rice Company project. Sometimes we openly advertise these roles, and others we select Training Programme graduates who have shown particular promise. A Traineeship may be on a show, an R&D or a training programme, and we choose the discipline based on the needs of the project.

A tailored year-long mentoring scheme to help an established theatre company reach the next level, whatever that means for them. We work as a team, giving the opportunity for a bespoke mentoring offer which covers all areas, from artistic, to production to administration.
