The Story So Far

Since we began, we have been a nomadic company, following our shows as they toured the world.

But the chaos and upheaval of recent years made us pause and reflect. We realised we wanted something more stable: to put down roots and build something lasting.

Many of our team live in Frome, a beautiful market town in Somerset. So, when the old Portway Methodist Church came up for sale in the summer of 2022, we took a leap… and bought it.

Over the past three years, we’ve poured love, care, and creativity into restoring the building — transforming it into The Lucky Chance: our very own, purpose-built creation space.

The Lucky Chance is more than just a venue. It’s our home. A dream home. A space to rehearse, to host, to teach, and to perform. Once filled with the prayers of generations past, these walls are now ready to answer our theatre prayers.
